“Seven tall, bulky Yaqui Indians came running at me as I stood by my car taking a photo of a pleasant sunset beginning to take shape behind the small Church in the distance. I was puzzled. Rita, my wife, was at the wheel, and by the time I managed to get back into the seat, they were all about us, speaking first in Spanish, then in Yaqui. Finally someone came up to my window and shouted in English, ‘What are you doing taking pictures?’ He was plainly furious.”
